Mebetoys Gran Champions Series Model #8568, Ferrari PB

The Ferrari 312 PB was based on the 1969 Ferrari 312 P that was powered by a 3-litre V12 engine and raced in the international manufacturers' championships for the sports car class. Ferrari produced eleven of the extremely sucessful 312 PBs between 1971 and 1973. The Ferrai PB weighedaround 1,300 pounds, used a flat 12-cylinder 3-litre engine that generated 450-horsepower, and had a top speed approaching 200 mph. In 1974 Ferrari left sports car racing to focus on Formula 1 and did not return to sports car racing until 1993 when they entered the IMSA series with the Ferrari 333SP. The 1/25 scale Mebetoys Gran Champions series first appeared in 1973 in the 1973 Mebetoys catalog. They continued to extended the Mebetoys line beyond the 1/43 scale. The Ferrari PB was one of the first 1/25-scale Mebetoys Gran Champions models.
