Gran Toros / Sputafuoco T'rantula

The T'rantula dragster was based on a Tom Daniel design. The T'rantula was made only for the Gran Toros series. This model was only packaged in the Speed Strip Set and in the "Post Cereal mail in offer" for the US market but came in the 1st generation cardboard window box and the 2nd generation Italian display box for the European market. In addition, the Italian models came with either a red & white or blue & white parachute. One of the original Gran Toros, it was part of the Sputafuoco and Heisse Räder Supergorss series and first appeared on the bottom of the North American box and the 1970 Mattel Toyfair catalog, the 1970 Mattel Italian Dealer catalog and the 1970 International catalog.
