Mebetoys Model #A-21*, Fiat 128 Vigili Del Fuoco.
*This was the second generation of Mebetoys Model #A-21. The first used Mebetoys Model #A-2 as the base model. This generation used Mebetoys Model #A-59 as the base model. This exact model did not appear in the early Mebetoys catalogs. The version that did appear in the catalogs up to 1975 was the first generation Mebetoys Model #A-21 which used the Fiat 1500, Mebetoys Model #A-2, as the base model. That version was listed under Series Gran Super in 1973 and then under Series Gran Toros (not the Hot Wheels Gran Toros / Sputafuoco) in 1974. In 1976 the base model for the Vigili Del Fuoco switched to the Alfetta, Mebetoys Model #A-92. The 1973 to 1976 catalogs used the Fiat 1500 base model photographs which was a very common practice of Mebetoys / Mattel S.p.A. to substitute photos of models they had available for the catalogs. The model shown here was made between 1974 and 1976 and was packaged with the Gran Toros name although it is clearly not a Hot Wheels Gran Toros / Sputafuoco model..
